1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address - For account verification, login, and important notifications
- Phone number - Required for account security and verification purposes only. Your phone number is stored securely and is never publicly visible to other users.
- Name and age - Displayed on your profile to potential matches
- Gender and preferences - Used to show you relevant profiles
1.2 Location Data
We collect location information including:
- Country, state, and city - Used to show you nearby users and display your general location on your profile
- We do not track your real-time GPS location
- Location is only updated when you edit your profile
1.3 Profile Photos
- Photos you upload are stored securely in our database
- Photos are visible to other users on the platform
- You can delete your photos at any time
- Maximum 6 photos per user, each up to 5MB
1.4 Faith & Relationship Information
To provide meaningful matches, we collect:
- Denomination and church attendance
- Prayer life and spiritual interests
- Relationship goals and preferences
- Favorite Bible verse (optional)
1.5 Chat Messages
- Messages between matched users are stored to provide messaging history
- Messages are only visible to the two matched users
- We may review messages if a user is reported for harassment or abuse
- Messages are deleted if either user deletes their account
1.6 Social Media Handles
- You may optionally add social media handles (Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat)
- You control visibility: matches only, or after chat begins
- Handles are never shared without your consent settings
1.7 Daily Devotionals
- Daily devotional content is an optional feature you can enable or disable in Settings
- We do not track which devotionals you view
- Bible verses are fetched from a public-domain Bible API (KJV) and are not stored on our servers
- Your devotional preference (enabled/disabled) is stored with your profile
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Show your profile to potential matches
- Facilitate messaging between matched users
- Send important notifications about matches and messages
- Improve our matching algorithms
- Ensure platform safety and prevent abuse
- Comply with legal requirements
3. Cookies & Local Storage
- We use session tokens stored locally to keep you logged in
- We do not use third-party tracking cookies
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers
4. Data Security
We protect your data through:
- Password encryption - Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
- Secure sessions - Authentication tokens are securely managed
- Account lockout - Protection against brute force attacks
- HTTPS encryption - All data transmitted is encrypted
5. Data Sharing
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal data to third parties
- Share your data with advertisers
- Allow third-party tracking on our platform
We may share data only:
- When required by law or legal process
- To protect safety of users or the public
- With your explicit consent

- Correction - Update inaccurate information
- Deletion - Request deletion of your account and data

7. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data retained while account is active
- Deleted accounts: Data removed within 30 days
- Messages: Deleted when either user deletes their account
- Reports: Retained for safety purposes as required by law
8. Children's Privacy
ADAM & EVE is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we discover an underage user, their account will be terminated immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
